Finding us !
Emory Creek flows out of the mountains and into the Fraser River about half ways between Hope and Yale. The co-op itself is located on the south shore of Emory Creek, and is accessed from Highway 1.
Address: 65444 Emory Creek Road, Yale, BC
To get to here from the lower mainland, you have two choices.
1. Take Highway 7 (the Lougheed Highway) east. Highway 7 runs under Highway 1 and comes to a fork just before it ends. Bear right (actually, go mostly straight) and you're headed the right direction, towards Yale. (Left will take you to Hope, wrong direction)
2. Take Highway 1 east, leaving at exit 170. Turn left at the stop light, just after the exit and follow Water Ave under the Highway, over the railroad tracks (not shown on the map below), out of town and onto the bridge over the Fraser and north towards Yale.
Either way, you're on Highway 1 headed north towards Yale. Continue north, paying attention to the small green mile markers. Shortly after the 14km marker, you'll see the Petro-Canada station (and Somewhere Else Cafe), on the left side of the road.
You're close. Just a short distance after the Petro-Canada station, the two northbound lanes will shrink to a single lane.
Just a short distance after that, you'll see a warning of an upcoming turn (below). You're now very close.
In fact, the car in the left picture is slowing to turn left onto Emory Creek Road, which is actually the entrance to the Co-op !
The truck in the right picture is exactly at the entrance.
Better slow down before you see the SLOW sign, or you'll shoot past the driveway.
Travel slowly down the driveway (there could be kids playing).
to the caretaker's residence, where everyone must sign in.
